Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

  • We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and that all Scripture is given by the inspiration of God. (2 Timothy 3: 16)
  • We believe that God is one but exists as three distinct persons, Father, Son and
    Holy Spirit. (1 John 5: 6 – 8, John 1: 1 – 18)
  • We believe in one God, the Father, who by His Word created all things visible and invisible. Colossians 1: 16; Genesis 1: 1
  • We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, the Word of God. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1: 1,2)
  • We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, sent from the Father, to bear witness to Christ. (John 15: 26)
  • We believe that “Through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned,” and that “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”. (Romans 5: 12; Romans 6: 23)
  • We believe that “By one Spirit we are all baptised into one body,” the Church, which is His body, “The fullness of Him who fills all in all”. (1 Corinthians 12: 13; Ephesians 1: 23)
  • We believe that, for our salvation, the Word of God became flesh, was born of the virgin, was crucified, died, was buried, was raised from the dead, and that there is salvation in no other, for “There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved”. (Acts 4: 12)
  • We believe that “By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works that no man should boast”. (Ephesians 2: 8, 9)
  • We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit and the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. (Acts 1: 5; 1 Corinthians 12: 13)
  • We believe in the sacraments of Baptism by full immersion and the Lord’s Table as we have the example set by Christ. (Acts 2: 38; Matthew 3: 13 – 17; Matthew 26: 17 – 30; 1 Corinthians 11: 23 – 33)
  • We believe that Christ will return to earth and that until that time He has entrusted to His church, the administration of the mystery that is “Christ in us, the hope of glory.” This will involve going into all the world and making disciples of all nations. (Colossians 1: 27; Ephesians 3: 9; Matthew 28: 18 – 20)
